A combination of a public televote and a panel of judges has chosen Luiz Ejlli as Albania's representative in Athens. "Zjarr E Ftohte (Fire And Cold)" was the song performed. The song contains elements of ethnic Albanian folk music, and uses traditional Balkan instruments. The song was composed by Klodian Qafoku and written by Floran Kondi. The song will be performed in Albanian at Athens.

Luiz Ejlli is the first male performer to represent his country. Ejlli has been well-known in Albania since winning the 2004 "Idols" show. He also competed in Festivali I 43-te I Kenges Ne Radio Televizion, the Albanian pre-qualifying national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, finishing second with the song "Hëna Dhe Yjet Dashurojnë" (The Moon And The Stars Are Loving)".
